Executive Summary

After we were recommended to ABI by another client we arranged a meeting with Mel Copper the company CEO. As part of that meeting we established that the ethics and level of professionalism we offered matched that of ABI and agreed a working partnership. Shortly after our initial meeting we were approached by Mel Copper, when changes in the business meant ABI required our help in sourcing a new Head of Supply Chain.

This role offered a real challenge, not only the changing scope of the role but we had to find someone who could will the boots of an exceptional manager.

The first step was for us to meet with the recruiting manager and understand the role, it’s challenges and importantly the culture of the business. Once we had taken a full assignment brief we put together our recruitment plan and set some time frames.

In this particular case it was important that the successful candidate lived locally so we began to map out the market locally and regionally and establish who we felt might have the right skill set.

Through targeted approaches and inactive candidate searches we were able to deliver a strong shortlist of candidates within our discussed timeframe.

After several interviews with senior members of the ABI team they were able to narrow it down to 2 candidates, both of which were considered high calibre.

MKM

They are the UK’s largest independent builders’ merchant, with 47 branches across England and Scotland.They provide building, timber and plumbing supplies, and stock a wide range of products from the industry’s leading manufacturers.

MKM is built on a strong foundation which put’s its people right at the heart of its success. They pride themselves on customer service and believe that it’s their employees who really set them apart from the competition.

Since opening our business in 2014 MKM has been a key client of ours. From the first meeting with members of the MKM management team we quickly established a synergy based on our core philosophies of innovation and high customer services. Over the subsequent years we have been instrumental in delivering high performing staff for a number of growth departments including Sales. Marketing, Procurement and Logistics.

Through the work we have done with MKM we have developed an open working relationship where we are more than just a recruiter for them.

APS Growers

APS are a family owned and operated business with strong family values, they are the UK's largest supplier of British tomatoes to the high street, responsible for approximately 30% of total UK production. They have been growing for over 65 years and have glasshouses that produce around 500 million tomatoes per year ranging from cherry to beefsteak

When a contact at a former client was made redundant and decided to relocate and take a new job it wasn’t long before his new employer was looking to recruit.

Having had previous experience of working with us he had no hesitation in recommending our services.

We picked up 2 roles which the company was struggling with at 2 very different sites on opposite sides of the country.

Through our modern approach to recruitment we were able to devote resources to both positions and turn the roles around in a short space of time.

Having a dedicated sourcing team meant we weren’t limited by resource constraints and were able to deliver a high level of consistency in our service.

Riva Foods

Riva are a leading provider of garlic based products to the foodservice, manufacturing and retail sector. They drive their staff to take ownership of the service they provide to all customers. They consistently strive to beat customer expectations and pride themselves on service levels.

Our Story

We linked up with Riva after picking up a lead and offered our support. After a successful search for them we not only filled the role we worked on but they also took on a 2nd candidate who impressed them.

Since Riva have continued to grow and that has led to the business straining staffing wise in a number of areas. As part of a recruitment partnership we have recently formed we have taken on a major project to look at the businesses recruitment spend in all areas, retention of staff, internal policies and development.

This project has allowed us to demonstrate the added value we can offer to our clients over and above the recruiting of staff.
